Now that the iTunes Music Store is out, how long will we have to wait for the QuickTime Video Store?

Oceans of bits, indeed...

The premise is more or less the same, except that if the Music Store is a success, it'll be easier to lure in the film studios and broadcast companies... or not?

I'd guess most of them wouldn't want to do it themselves, not anymore, except for maybe those in the MS camp.

So what would be on sale? What would you like see on demand?

Personally, I'd like to see all the Red Dwarf episodes I missed, many of the top notch BBC documentaries from over the years and some films which are hard to come by on video here, like Silent Running, for example.

Probably have to wait a long time.. perhaps even untill the humble 56-Kbs modem is a rare item. Then add a few more years onto that if you don't live in the US

But it is a good idea, i wouldn't mind seeing classic TV shows (like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) that haven't been shown or shows that i liked but the rest of the population.

I would pay money to see Strangers with Candy or TV fun-house which i haven't seen on TV for a while!

"Deveolpers, developers, developers" - Steve Ballmer. They could give that one out for free.

I agree DSL would be an important prerequisite. A large HD would be beneficial. I wonder what the fee for this service would cost?

Amazon.co.uk has got the first and second series of red dwarf on DVD, the third series should be out sometime in autumn. All you need is a dvd-player with no region restriction! If you are in to british comedy, might i also suggest that you check out the exellent new BBC series The office, find some samples here
There is never, ever, any need for MS Comic Sans

Finland's region 2, same as us?

I'd love to see "Nightingales" - old BBC comedy with Robert Lindsay.

Plus I'd like to see DVDs for a whole load of stuff: Space Above/Beyond, ER, Renegade, Baywatch Nights, Tropical Heat, Highlander (the series), A-Team, Waltons (!), Little House (!), Buck Rogers, Sliders, Nash Bridges, Dream On, Nikita, and loads more I can't think of. Yep, I like my trash TV.
