I have a 1212u scanner from Agfa and a USB 250 Zip drive from Iomega. I wrote to both and ask for driver support under MacOS X. These are the responses:

"Thank you for contacting Agfa Technical Support

Our engineers are writing drivers to make our products compatible with OS X. When the drivers are ready, they will be posted at http://support.agfa.com

Thank You,
Greg
Technical Support"

"Thank you for using Iomega's Online Support services. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced using your Iomega product. I understand you are having an issue with your Zip drive. OS X is currently undergoing testing for compatibility with Iomega drives and software.
Unfortunately I have no information available that would specify when support is anticipated. Please keep an eye on the Iomega web site for updates.

Sincerely,
Matt
Iomega Customer Support"

So it's sounds like they are at least working on drivers. Hopefully they will release something in the coming months....

That sounds pretty good. A whole lot better than UMAX - who seemed to imply that they wouldn't even look at updating their drivers for 90 days *after* OS X release date. From a reader mail on Macintouch, they said "check back after June 24th."

i've gotten my zip drive to work in OSX PB.
i haven't tried this with OSX 10.0 yet though.

system: blue g3 350, adaptec scsi card (forget number 3096 or something, 20MB/s), scsi zip drive.

to get it to work in PB i booted up with a mac formatted disk in the drive, power on. it worked like a piece of cake. i haven't gotten it to work in 10.0 yet, although i think the disk i tried isn't mac formatted.

on any mac pre X you can connect a scsi zip and boot up, automatically mounting the disk with no driver or guest software. well at least i can.

don't know if the same is true for usb zips...
