Ok heres the deal, I wake from sleep then text appears and scrolls about 100 pixels per second up the screen. I would presume it is the contents of either kernal_task or mDNSResponder

Code:
Feb 4 09:26:07 Theblackmac kernel: System Sleep Feb 4 09:26:08 Theblackmac kernel: System Wake Feb 4 09:26:08 Theblackmac kernel: Wake event 0008 Feb 4 09:26:08 Theblackmac kernel: AppleNMI unmask NMI Feb 4 09:26:08 Theblackmac kernel: InternalUSBModem::setPowerState(1) Feb 4 09:26:08 Theblackmac kernel: Sound assertion "0 != err" failed in "AppleLegacyAudio/AppleTexas2Audio/AppleTexas2Audio.cpp" at line 960 goto Exit Feb 4 09:26:09 Theblackmac kernel: FWOHCI handleSelfIDInt - nodeID not valid (reset bus and retry 1) Feb 4 09:26:09 Theblackmac kernel: ADB present:8c Feb 4 09:28:41 localhost syslogd: restart
heres the offending actions from the system log.

How does this constitute a bug in the Unix core of OS X and not a problem with your specific machine and/or installation? You haven't found a bug unless you can prove the origin.

BTW, do you use a FW Audio device?
ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3

AppleLegacyAudio/AppleTexas2Audio/AppleTexas2Audio.cpp

is not a part of the Unix core. it's obviously some legacy audio driver. at best, you've found a bug in that audio driver.
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.

I do not use a firewire audio device.
Looks like its time for apple to replace some old code. Oh well.
But my point was that osx should have recovered from that incident. or at worst kernal panicked.
