12" pb & why being left-handed sucks...

i'm at the end of week one of my new rev C 12"...
mostly, love it.
but, here i am, left-handed. got my wrist resting next to the trackpad.
mousing with my pointer finger, clicking with my thumb.
trying to run on the battery, sit on the sofa (by a breezy window!)
and...it's pretty hot on the left side. cannot keep my hand there for long.
anyone else suffering with this? any ideas?? (wishful thinking...)

funny, right after i posted, i decided to learn to use the trackpad with my right hand (i already use my mouse with either hand)

How the heck do you use the trackpad while keeping your hand on the palmrest? Are you turning your hand 90 degrees to the right to touch it? The most contact I have with the palmrest when I'm mousing is just on the very edge of the machine, usually just on the plastic "bead" that goes all the way around the edge. I think my wrist would be in extreme pain if I was just twisting it to use the trackpad.

I always either use a mouse or use the least contact possible when using the trackpad. Although the finish is durable over time it can wear away due to sweat from the hands. Besides; a Bluetooth mouse is just cooler to use and I can right click.
Microsoft BT mouse works very well with my 17" 1.5 Ghz.

i do use a mouse, but...this is for the times when i literally have the pb on my lap.
oh well, will be useful in the dead of winter...

Simple solution. Only use your PB in a cold room. I have mine in my basement, and it's always about 65 degrees, even when it's 85 degrees outside. The PB feels very cold at first, but then warms up quite nicely. I can't wait until winter - no need to turn up the furnace!

...just use your right hand. I'm left handed, but have always used mice with the right hand all my life, its better to learn it that way so you won't have to put up with akward trackpad problems like you described, or problems with mice in general...

sure, but i have to LEARN to use it this way first (which i will do, but, of course, slows down the WORK process...)
or i could learn to use my powerbook backwards (leaning over the display...)

hhmm im left handed but i use my right hand on my trackpad or with a mouse.
infact i dont think i could use my left hand for a mouse or trackpad, whereas with writing i couldent use my right hand.
hmm....
