Automatically arrange desktop icons?

Is it possible to automatically arrange desktop icons? (I know I know, it's a windows-feature, but a pretty usefull one)
I hate it when I delete a folder from my desktop and it leaves a gap between my icons...

Click on the desktop. "View" menu. "Show View Options". "Keep Arranged By". Make choice.
Is that what you meant ??
