I'm almost positive I've seen this come up before, but did a search to no avail.

The screenshot pretty much explains it.

So, how can I get rid of the duplicates?

Thanks.

What's better?

Onyx or MainMenu?

And thanks.

You don't need either. You can do it via the terminal.

I tried to do this, but I don't have this path:

/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/

I can get to Frameworks, but I have no LaunchServices.framework. Am I doing something wrong? I'm on 10.5.4.

Just go to /Library/Caches, delete everything in there that starts with com.apple.LaunchServices, and reboot. Much simpler and easier than using the Terminal.

If you've just gotta use the Terminal, though, LaunchServices.framework is in CoreServices.framework instead of ApplicationServices.framework in Leopard. So:

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
