Sometimes it's hard to deal with someone who tells it like it is. You'll get over it, I hope.

Yeah, I know you're right OldMan. That's why you're so annoyed with me.

Oh, were you talking about the unemployed Socialist douche pictured above?

Never heard of the "Bathtub Boy" nickname until I looked it up just now.

A Google search for 'keith olbermann bathtub boy' (no quotes) only yields 12,000 hits, so I am not too upset that I missed it. (recall that 'keith olbermann batshit crazy' is more like 56,000 hits....)

I actually wrote a thread for this, with a decent analysis of how Countdown slid into the garbage.

Then I had to take a phonecall, and when I went back to it, all I could ask myself was "who the **** cares?"

Really? When was the last time this guy was relevant? 2003? Maybe 2005?

Olbermann Hosts Last 'Countdown' on MSNBC - NYTimes.com

"Keith Olbermann, the highest-rated host on MSNBC, announced abruptly on the air Friday night that he was leaving his show, “Countdown,” immediately."

There's a joke to be had in there somewhere.

I guess Liberals who love shock pundits like Glenn Beck aren't the only ones with man-crushes.

No, he tells it like he thinks, without even lip-service to objectivity.

At least Hannity, who disgusts me, has the decency to label the shit he flings as opinion.

Edit: scooped by sek.

Olbermann has always had trouble dealing with network management, at ESPN and MSNBC. He's imperious and prickly when he doesn't get his way. MSNBC's oversight was often bizarre; his suspension for political donations being most recent and ridiculous. I think he and management were both tired of butting heads all the time. This has little to do with politics.

I have great respect for Olbermann for calling out the Big Lies of the Bush administration when most of the TV media was parroting those lies without question.

Olbermann crossed the lines of good taste and excessive rhetoric on many, many occassions. To his credit, Olbermann apologied a few times.

He should wear that with pride. Objecting to the endless, pointless coverage of the Lewinski "scandal" is just another example of Olbermann's frustrations with the stupidity of modern news media.

But when a real scandal emerged (the President of the US lying his ass off about WMDs, causing pointless suffering to thousands of Americans and millions of Iraqis, and billions of wasted tax dollars), the media parroted the White House line like payed-off propagandists.

This.

I'd guess he and the four people that watched him care.

"...Highest rated host on MSDNC"

So the rest of the total viewership is down to three people now?

MSNBC vs FOX is just like Mac vs PC. It may only be 10% marketshare, but it's the top 10%.

I love that the slogan for the network is basically a warning that they're about to ream all four of their viewers!
