Is it me or has the level of whining increased lately?

You have people (spaz and his Panther love) and (Mike/starman and his and treo experience) coming across as their experience MUST be the only true one, despite who others have to say.

Then you have 80,000 people retiring nicknames in the mistaken belief that that is cool and changes their online persona somehow.

Then you have others complaining about being banned from the lounge for being @$$e$, or others complaining about people being/not being banned for the same offenses.

I understand that it's human nature to complain more than to compliment, but sheesh.

Then again, I just realized that I'm whining about people whining. But I have a point, I think.

Your thoughts?

I hate to state the obvious, but aren't you also whining that the "level of whining [has] increased." Not trying to start a flame war, just questioning the irony of the situation.

Thanks Gorickey...I mean ManOfSteal. Apologies to you, Randman. Damn, just goes to show I should never respond at 1:00am (it's past midnite here in the Pacific/Oceania area). Thanks again MoS for the correction.

[EDIT:] Wow, now I think it's me who's whining. It's a vicious circle!

I'd like to whine about the fact that I thought that the Mets were getting Manny, and then they weren't. and then they were again, and now (apparently) they aren't. Such drama! And I was all set to put his picture in my sig. (Should I have given Carlos or Mikey the boot?)

I like a whining thread, actually. Randman has started a great thread.

This is the default point where everyone can come to whine about ANYTHING. So, instead of whining within a perfectly great thread - and ruining it - just come here and whine.

Now, pass me another Darvocet or Hydrocodone.

I am so SICK and DAMN tired of all the garbage that networks are throwing on the bottom of the TV screen in the middle of a show every 5 minutes. Animations, "Coming Next", etc. WAY out of hand. It's nothing more than graffiti, and mark my words...as soon as they discover how much they can get away with, they will start selling those spots to advertisers, sponsors. Mofo bastards.

OK. I feel a tiny bit better now.

I know some already do it. I distinctly remember a news ticker that used the KFC logo (Colonel Sanders' head) as the bullet point separating the news items!!!

That's an insult to graffiti. Graffiti (or proper graffiti) is an art form. There is nothing art form-ish about that crap they spout at the bottom of the screen during shows.

I would also like to whine about idiot commentators who talk through the entire end credits of movies/shows, and often during 'start credits' (can't think of a better word), often even after the show itself has actually started.

Define trollish.

I said I had a problem with the Treo. They said I was wrong. I proved I wasn't wrong. They still said I was a nutjob. How am I the troll?

I guess from now on we should only make topics about everything that's going right. I'll start:

What else are we going to complain about?

At least Windows users can complain about the "blue screen of death", "Adware", "Viruses", and how their computer is 3x slower than when they bought it 5 months ago... their excuse usually is, "Well, technology keeps moving and you have to keep up with it by buying new computers...." ack.

Wait, I think I just whinned....

It's not the whining that bugs me. I think it's a natural response in a place where you are unknown and in a dark hard drive somewhere.

What drives me to whine is the shier stupidity of some people who respond for the sake of responding and know nothing of what they speak of...and then the whining starts about the grammar and the spelling...blah, blah, blah.

I do believe the median age level is declining in the forum as the older more mature sane people move on.

Some cheese with that whine, sir?

I'm not sure your generalization about age is right. Some of the most intelligent and civil posters on MacNN are fairly young, and I'm often surprised by how old the...less mature ones are.

Complaining is a part of human nature. Cody is one that has good reason. That is why we put her in our thoughts.
