What do you guys think about a 7" iPad? To me it feels like an awkward size. A little to small to be a great web browser and a little too big to be a pocketable portable media device. The way I see it, once something doesn't fit in your pocket, you may as well just go for a larger device...
...and the current iPad seems like the perfect size for something that is both small and easy to take with you, yet big enough to not feel cramped or limited... and the current iPod Touch seems like the perfect size for a pocketable media device.
And what screen ratio do you think they would use? The 3:2 of the iPhone or the 4:3 of the iPad? The iPhone ratio seems to make more sense, but then iPad apps wouldn't fit quite right.
I don't know. I guess I'm just not seeing the appeal. What do you guys think? Would you want a 7" iPad? And what price do they make it to fit in between the Touch and the iPad? I feel like it would almost have to be $299 to be a hit, but then you are in iPod Touch territory.

Seems really strange. Though I suppose they'll have all your mobile bases covered from the iPhone to the 17" MacBooks.

It's to appease the Star Trek fans who thought the original iPad was too large, they wanted one same size as a PADD.

I'd rather have a 5" iPod Touch. Something small enough to fit in a pocket, but with a nice big screen for watching video, etc.

1280x720? Here's my Amex.
1024x768? Pass.
I'd prefer 6" (geometric average of iTouch and iPad) to 7", but 7" isn't a deal killer.
I suspect I'm going to have to buy some [censored] Andorid thing, like that Samsung tablet.

The good thing about the iPad is that it's screen size is similar to a book page, so it's not cramped. If the screen is smaller but too big to be pocket size, then I don't see the point, even if it's a high res 'retina display'.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Exactly the reason why a bigger-size iPad is, IMO, stupid

I'll have to see it in person. If it's the same resolution I think a smaller size could be better, but I'd need more than that to upgrade from my current iPad.

The 9.7" iPad's 4:3 aspect ratio and low pixel density is not what I would call good for watching movies, TV, etc. A 2.4:1 movie is only 427 pixels tall, wasting 44% of the screen and not even displaying an HD width picture.

It all depends what your options are.
Stuck on a longhaul flight with crapy in-seat entertainment systems, the iPad is plenty good.
And lasts much longer than any laptop.

And until the retina display was introduced, it was one of the finest displays on the market to view content.
