Great as USB Flash Drives are, they are easily erased or formatted.

Is there a Mac utility, or way to prevent this, unless a password is entered ?

Hopefully stopping erasure using any OS.

My USB drives do not have write protect switches, anyway I would prefer password protection.

I already save sensitive backups in a .dmg folder, so the contents are protected.

I don't have a PC, can .dmg files be opened within WIndows, is .dmg recognised ?

Thanks
