I click on 'search' on this site's menu bar, and enter my search term ('VNC') and I'm brought to the advanced search window. I choose the Networking forum, leavning VNC in the search term, and hit search and I'm brought back to this advanced search window again. It can't be because there are no threads with VNC in them, b/c I post one last week.
It looks like it's having problems with VNC and VPN. 'Test' brings up results.

I can't seem to search at all. :/
EDIT - it works randomly, apparently. I was able to do one search, then back to nothing. It just stays at the search page.

Any update on this? Search still seems to randomly work.

The Search index is set to 4 letter words and greater, I think.

I have always found this very limiting. Can it be reduced to 3 letter words or greater?

I agree that a 3 letter search is limiting. This search problem is unrelated, though. Sometimes, search doesn't work at all. It doesn't matter how many letters or what I type. Right now I can't get any search results under any category. Every time I submit the search it takes me right back to the search page.

Yes, it has always been like that.
I think it's not a bug, it's a feature. Of some weird 'NN sort

Argh! No wonder I can't search for "NAB".

Is anyone actively looking into this? This forum is very difficult to use when you can't search for anything.

You need an Admin to give a reply. Us lowly Mods can guess at the index settings, but we have no access to those controls.

search almost never works for me on this site, doesn't matter how long the search string is.

I've had problems with the search functions for over a month now. It doesn't matter how long my search term is, I am brought back to the advance search page with no acknowledgment that I've just searched for anything. It's extremely difficult to not repeat previously held discussions, when we can't locate said discussions.
