Does anyone here use MLB.tv? I am thinking about buying it but I am not going to waste my money if it won't work on a MacBook. The system requirements page doesn't have a definitive answer but it does somewhat mention Mac compatibility.

It specifies Mac system requirements very clearly:
The Official Site of Major League Baseball: Help: MLB.com FAQs
It should be fine with a MacBook.

That doesn't say that it is specifically for MLB.tv though, they have a variety of multimedia products and that is why I am concerned. I know that the live radio doesn't work on OS X because I subscribed to it earlier this year then canceled it when I found out it doesn't work.
So, if anyone does have any experience with using MLB.tv this year I would appreciate it. I am leaving for Arizona this Friday and I need to keep tabs on the Tribe :-D

I tried MLB.TV on my Core Solo Mac Mini and it was flakey as hell. I ended up making a small XP installation with Boot Camp just for MLB.TV

It works you just need to download Flip4Mac before.

thanks for the input. I have flip4mac and I am hoping that it will run well on a core duo MacBook.
What browsers were you using?

The Live Radio does work on OS X, I use it all the time. It is kind of touchy, though. I actually wrote MLB and complained early in the season, they suggested going into the Windows Media preferences and disabling all the protocols except for HTTP. That worked for a while. Lately, if it doesn't work, I need to go and find the cache file and delete it. It's either in the root /Library/Cache directory, or in your user folder's Library/Cache directory. (I can't remember which....) I think I delete all the MS Internet-related caches while I'm at it.
Baseball's better on the Radio, anyway....

Can't you find Mets games on an internet radio station? I've found a couple sites broadcasting Jays games, completely free. These sites are simply the websites of the radio station broadcasting the game locally.

Those websites make Bug Selig cry. Go you really want to see a grown man cry?
Seriously, Major League Baseball gathered the internet broadcast rights to all the games a few years ago, and took them away from the local radio stations. WFAN in New York City carries the Mets games, and I used to listen to their Internet feed back in the day. But MLB took over, and WFAN stopped their stream when the Met game was on. And then a year or two later MLB started charging for the privelege of listening to the radio feed (complete with local ads!).
My guess is that if you can find your Blue Jays on the Internet for free, it's because the mind-control sattelites that Major League Baseball runs aren't pointed at Canada yet....
One of the items on my List Of Things To Do is put up an AM antenna in my roof tuned to 660 AM from New York. I can sometimes get it in my car if the weather is right, so I'm sure that with the right antenna I can get the station....

I started using MLB.TV on my Mac a week ago. It is pretty sweet. I have the regular version, rather than the version where you can watch 6 games at once. I use Flip4Mac and it is alright.

Just realize that local blackout restrictions are in effect. There a proxy server work arounds, but sometimes they are slow.

And you don't necessarily have to be local to get games blacked out; you just need to be in the Cable station's distribution area. Hence, I am in the MLB.TV blackout range for the Mets and Yankees, even though it would take me six hours driving to get to either stadium (not counting game-day traffic....)
Toronto, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland are physically closer, but since the games aren't on cable here they're not blacked out.

Thanks for all that information, what is the proxy that you can sometimes use to get blackout games?

For what it's worth - I got MLB.tv and it is working perfectly. I downloaded the newest version of QuickTime and then set the Flip4Mac setting to open QuickTime when possible - now I can watch games at full screen.
