To do what? Charge? Most chargers are 1 A or 2.1 A. I seriously doubt Apple would require anything beyond what a standard USB port/charger can provide.

steve - yup i agree. I am just curious if it will be 2.1 amps or 1amp.

The iPad air accepts up to 2.4amps btw.

My guess is it will be 2.1 amps but Im hoping it will be 1amp. I use solar power to charge my 5s a lot and 2amps will make it harder to charge from the sun.

Doubtful. Even an iPhone barely charges at 1 A. You'll just need a bigger solar panel!
