That is, given the way that the occasional adult-oriented thread is shut down, is it too much? Is it a good thing to compromise the adults in favor of whatever children might be hanging about?

Or should the little rug rats stay the heck off the Net?
Is this a good place for an argument?

I thought the reason "adult" threads get locked is out of consideration for people who might be at work.

there are a lot of teenagers here but i think that's better than having a lot of geezers though.

teenagers these days are not dumb, whereas older adults are just as bad as the worst teens

tell your kid i challenge him to a beer drinking contest anytime anywhere!

it's not so much a child thing, as an "at work" thing. i mean, i don't give a f*ck what i see on here, because i work from home. if there was a sort of XXX Lounge, then sure, post/say whatever. but, i'm aware that a lot of people surf this board at work. to them, though, i say this: GET ON WITH SOME WORK, YOU'RE NOT PAID TO SIT THERE ALL DAY, POSTING ON A MESSAGE BOARD!

it still annoys me that us grown adults have our words censored on here though (like my f*ck there), when you can hear 8 year old kids saying far worse

The "adult oriented" threads are almost always stupid to begin with. I see no problem with shutting them down and/or language filters. If you can't express yourself without either, then leave.

As for philzilla's comment, I have downtime between assignments, etc. That's when I'm here. In the old days, I guess I'd be hanging around the water cooler. We all need brain breaks during the day, contrary to what a lot of my previous retarded managers thought.

Don't forget school. There have been several occasions where I have gotten in trouble by the librarian for the languange and conversation on this board (ca$h's infamous "blow me," just to name one). I strongly prefer censored language.

Maybe there should be an area here where people who want to be that way can do so with less fear of being locked by the admins. This would be a place separate from the Lounge. Maybe it could be called "Club"? People who can't see such things on the computer they're using don't go in there, and the rest of us would be fine.

I do this mostly from work, yes, but I don't expect major trouble.

I can't get there from here. If I have to do it from home, the point is lost as I've got plenty of porn and USENET right there.

Why does it have to be here at all? There are a zillion other boards out there.

PS. Phil, I'm having fun with ya right now

Because there's a good group here. Y'all are alright, in general. And I can get to this site from work.
