Would you need to pay tax on top of that?

As far as I know, sales tax would have to be added, BUT, there may be a way around it...
Here in North Carolina, the weekend of Aug. 1-3 is called "Tax Free Weekend" on computers and many other school supplies. I'm getting an amazing deal on a new Mac through my institution and I'm putting a desposit on it now to go ahead and get the order processed, and will pay the remaining cost on that weekend to avoid sales tax...check w/ your state laws!

Has anyone bought via the education store before?
How do they check and make sure you are a Student, or Staff as you say you are...?
I sure wish they let High School students buy!

If you have to pay tax, this is not too hot a deal; just OK. I hate sales tax.
