I'll probably wait for the first update before installing unless everyone looks like they're having too much fun without me.

Same here. I've always hated the purolator website - feels very 1998.

Lucky devils. Apparently Apple doesn't care that I just bought my machine last week enough to send the up to date disc by tomorrow. My order *still* says not yet shipped.

Mine shipped but says the 27th as the estimated date on FedEx's site. Apple's original invoice said "delivers October 26," so I guess we'll see!

I'm wondering what criteria they are using to determine whose order ships first?

When I got Tiger one after the promised date I called Apple and they apologized by sending me a free copy of iLife or iWork.

I have a feeling that I'll be getting Leopard on time though.

My copy shipped on Oct 24, with an estimated delivery date of Oct 25. I checked with Purolator and the package seems to be in transit in the US.

Not sure what this means for a delivery date, but I think receiving it tomorrow is not realistic.

Same here, I ordered the up to date and it says not yet shipped...I guess they're trying to get it to everyone who paid $130 first. Fair enough, I'm happy with my $10 upgrade, as long as I get it relatively soon (hopefully early next week).

i hope it comes today, or i will have to actually do my work today (instead of installing & exploring leopard).

And with the dock, QS isn't required.. Actually QS isn't required at all. It's a preference.

Yeah instead it has two different styles throughout the OS.. MUCH better. (I'd have rather them stuck with all Aqua than have it not unified or consistent)

Mine arrived in NYC this morning and has been sitting at the local FedEX since 8:34.
I saw FedEx in the lobby this morning and got excited, but he didn't go to my floor.

Placed a signature release on my door last night, in case I was asleep when the delivery guy got here (exhausted student with a day off). Just woke up and tracked the package. The FedEx site said "8:04 - On FedEx vehicle for delivery," "8:41 - Delivery exception - Future delivery requested." What the...? Anyone know what this means? Am I not receiving Leopard today?

Did they miss read your signature release? Did you check the wrong box? I'm sure you didn't but maybe the driver read it wrong.

Call them up and ask where it is.

I have the same thing and I called Fedex, who gave the excuse that the driver does that when he's delayed, but they said it should be here by 2 and apologized. Jerks.

Fed Ex just dropped mine off.

Our delivery driver (same guy all of the time) said that they are bombed today with these small boxes from Apple.

Yeah...I called a few minutes ago, and now the automated system says mine will be delivered by 6:00. Why do they have to be so cryptic on the website? Just say, "Running Late." Wtf? I hate FedEx. Would only use UPS if given the option.

So, mine just showed up at 11:30am rather than before 10:30am.

My friendly FedEx guy told me they had so many of these from Apple - all requiring signatures - that they moved most deliveries of it to "Delivery exception - Future delivery requested." They just couldn't deliver them fast enough. It's just FedEx speak for later than anticipated delivery. Bottom line: they will be all be delivered today but not before 10:30am.

However, "Delivery exception - Future delivery requested" can also mean they tried to deliver but you weren't there to sign for it. Typically, in this situation they leave a notice of attempted delivery on your door or box.

Well........time time to install!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About the family pack. Is there any reason neighbors couldn't share an install disk? How would Apple police the household thing?

Finished installing and am copying my iPhoto library and the rest of my home folder back over.
So far I like it a lot.

I'm really happy they gave everyone the option to right click by pressing two fingers on the touchpad. 10.4 for my PowerBook didn't have that.
