Anyone know that the deal is with Palm and OS X? Will I be able to sync with my Palm and OS X? I get the feeling Palm will not be touching OS X for some time.

Yeah, last I heard, Palm didn't promise OS X compatibility until 2002. That's what'll keep me from adopting OS X full-time, I imagine.

Grrrr

You should be able to simply boot in OS9.1 and use the Palm (or any other things currently unsupported in OSX, like DVD) like normal.

I sent an email to Handspring regarding this and got the following response:

Thank you for your email

Our developers are working on adapting our software for Mac OS X at this time.

Thank you,

I'm not sure if this has been covered already, but Hot Sync does indeed work with OS X (4K78) running Classic. I'm not sure why since it's has a hardware driver, but it does. The only thing that didn't work was any conduit that requires an Internet connection (like AvantGo or Vindigo). It looks like Apple had us in mind

Well maybe not. It uses the USB hardware but may not be driving the hardware itself. I know there's shim in Classic of SCSI so I don't see a reason they couldn't do that for USB.

Anyway less than a week left. Everyone just hang on.
