I purchased my MacBook soon after they were first released and I have noticed a slight slow-down on my machine. I haven't added software in the background. What are common things one can do to speed up a Mac's performance? Thanks!

Do a search, OS X maintenance . You will find a lot of posts.

With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

It might be the firmware upgrades. Or jest 'getting used to' the speed of the machine.....

Feed it another gig of ram! That will speed it up more than anything
