Although there have been rumours of it being supported in the future, I have just received this information from DTS, apparently from an engineer:

"We've lived without OpenGL acceleration on RagePro so far and marketing isn't saying we must have it.
We're not going to re-write RagePro acceleration for Mac OS X. I was thinking Rage128, not RagePro when I suggested we'd fix this. You get better performance on Mac OS 9 for this functionality."

I personally don't think this is acceptable.

Everybody make them hear your discontent! One good way of doing this is submitting bug reports directly via http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/ but I guess if you're not a developer you could also use their Feedback form.

What's the URL of that petition, again?

When are you Rage Pro people going to realize that Apple just doesn't give a crap about you at all?

Rage Pro? What's this? Oh yeah, that's for spoiled people. I'm stuck with a Rage IIc; and no, I'll never give up.

I'm not one for entitlements, but Apple owes us this. My $1299, in conjunction with all the other rev A owners, helped put Apple back on the map. How soon they forget. I've never regreted my purchase for one second, not even with the lack of drivers in X. But come on Apple, show some damn loyalty.

There is a fast growing Yahoo Group for users of ATI RAGE PRO (LT and IIc included) to request support for these cards under OS X.

Feel free to drop by. We are in the initial organization phase (getting to know one another, trying to come up with a nicely worded petition etc).
