I am having wierd crashes with the newest version of the Software Updater control panal. It quits out with an error 1,010 after hitting the update now button just after it starts looking for updates.
Reinstalling the control and extension as well as trashing the prefs have had no effect. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,

Yeah, my parents' iMac DV is doing the same thing. I've updated things, zapped PRAM, rebuilt desktop, messed with extensions, Disk Doctor......nothing. It connects to the net fine, but then freezes up when making a connection to Apple's server.
Any tips would be nice.

As per the last discussions on this, boot with Mac OS All extensions (Extension Manager) and run the Updater. It should work just fine.

Do you happen to know which extension(s) need to be enabled (besides the two software update extensions)?
I'd like to free up some RAM by disabling extensions that I don't need.
Thank Yee!

I have tried running the Software Update control panal with the OS 9 base extension set and I still get a unexpected quit error 1,010.
This seems like a weird error code to me. Anyone else seeing this same error?
