I know this is probably a little early , but I would like to know anyway .
I would personally like some kind of Scrapbook implementation , better Java support (and of course more speed )

I would like it to support Security Certificates like Netscape 4.7 does now. My bank uses this, and I hate using Netscape just to pay my bills! (hate that too )
A scrapbook would be nice, and support for iframes and css layers.
A GUI way to change themes has but there should be more options than just colors.
The AutoFill form feature should autofill while you type, like IE does.
I think you should be able to tab to any form element, also the buttons and the dropdown menus.
When you make text bigger/smaller, OW shouldn't reload the whole page, but do it instantly like opera/IE. Cm'on!! shouldn't be too hard!
Hopefully some of this will come in a 4.x release.

other than bug and speed fixes:
- tabed browsing like Mozilla
- iframes support
- css for forms like pull down menu's color, size and font.
- export function for bookmarks to IE bookmarks because I think all browsers can import IE's bookmarks.
- button for mail url with default e-mail client
- when a folder "is" a link the link should be activated when you click on the folder not that you will have "open" the folder
- when opening html files or saving html files, create a preview or make a custom icon with the preview printed on it
- I want to be able to mark text on websites. OmniWeb saves the url and marked text so when I go to that url omniweb highlites the marked text

How about better conformity with the web standards and more speed, then talk to apple about bundling it with there OS ie.Internet EXPLODER, then people will be saying Micro who!

All I need now is proper Java, then I can dump IE for good. I only use IE (classic version) occasionally when I need to access certain chatrooms.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

As I posted in an OS X - General thread :
If you really want to see OmniWeb bundled with Mac OS X , do what I did and send feedback to Apple !
Let them know that we want OmniWeb . Apple even gave it two Design Awards , so it should have its place on a default Mac system !
Let's fight for the right of a good browser experience !

Thanks for the suggestions, all... (Actually, several of them are already either planned or in the works.) To make sure your feedback gets filed and remembered when it comes time to focus on 5.0, it'd be best if you could send your requests to [email protected] . Thanks!

OmniWeb 11.0 feature request
I'd really like to see some matter/energy teleportation and human brainwave holographic imaging capabilities. Thanks.
Oh yeah, and smoother scrolling would be nice, too.

Tabbed browsing windows is the niftiest idea I've seen in awhile.
Also, include the usual: Better standards compliance, speed, blah, blah, blah...

Is there a list of features Omni is "planning" to do (not that it will be included in 5).
It would be nice if you could put that list online

I just thought of something else : progress of the download in the icon (like in IE) . Of course they should be actually updated , you shouldn't have to click on the Desktop to see the icon change .

complete CSS and JavaScript support and then you have simply the best browser out there!
Plus the obvious speed and bug fixes though from what i have seen with 4.1 1 the speed is very much acceptable...

No, because if we post such a list we'll get lots of complaints whenever we do a release that doesn't include this or that thing from it, and we get enough of that kind of email already.

Resumable downloads is a very important one. I've got a permanent connection but I was at my parents' for Christmas and trying to download some things for my Dad on his dial-up connection. It can make you very frustrated with a browser, even when you love it otherwise, to lose a file you've been waiting 45 minutes for!
I like tabbed browsing very much. I think it's intuitive and (based on using Mozilla, which is icky otherwise) it speeds up and makes more pleasurable the whole browsing experience.
Thanks for listening, Omnigroup.

Full CSS1 and DOM2 support are both musts.
Full CSS2 support would be great, but if this is not possible, then at least the positioning aspects of it (also called CSS-P).
Give me those, plus the great stuff from the current versions, and I'm happy.

2 features:
Massively improved scrolling speed. X scrolling is ~ 1/10th of the speed of 9, at best 1/5th. Let OW be the first to hit OS9 speed
Full CSS/java/script support, no more problems entering certain sites because OW doesn't support em.

Tabbed Window in 5.0 would be very nice.
Maybe the globe in dock will be spinning if the page are loading or put a spinning arrow on any of the window in the dock so I'll know if its finished or not.

Allow OmniWeb to use Internet Config settings like Exploder does, so that when I click on an ftp link, I can have it open in an ftp client or a download manager. Also, give me the option to download certain types of files with other programs, like for example, having a download manager grab all .sit, .dmg, .hqx, etc.
That would be great!

Another feature request: On the Omni logo that appears when you open a new window in OmniWeb, make the blue tint a bit lighter. As it is, the texture looks a little more like the XP Play-Doh-ish look than the Aqua glasslike look.

It shouldn't be too hard to make a throbber for OmniWeb , would it ? It would be a toolbar item like all the rest . Isn't this easy in Cocoa ? Make a custom view and then let there be an animation . It would also be very customizable , since you would be able to modify the images inside the bundle .

OmniWeb should make the download manager an application and not include it with omniweb.
why is that better you ask ?
1. we can choose other download manager
2. When omniweb crashes it doesn't stop our downloads (download manager is of course stable)
3. OmniWeb doesn't have to load the download manager every time it starts. just when we want to download software.
4 We could use it for other browsers or software much easier.
5. Apple does exactly the same with Mail + Address Book (not really an advantage but more an example )

My insider knowledge (hehe....riiiiight) tells me that the teleportation plugin will be implemented as early as version 9.8, but don't expect it to surpass the limitations of the fission reactor on your CPU.
Smoother scrolling will have to wait until at least version 13.

Okay, this discussion has gotten amusing enough that I'm almost tempted to make that key combination do something in a future build.
