The letter is the development branch (C must have been decided a while back to be the release branch)

The last numbers are just the build number.

So, 6C115 is the 115th build of branch C of Jaguar.

Did you READ that thread?

I checked the web site right after lunch and it wasn't posted yet. What is 'a while'?

I was the first person to CONFIRM that it even existed.

The first number = product ID (10.0 was 4, 10.1 was 5, 10.2 is 6...10.3 should be 7, etc.)

The letter = major feature addition/revision (adding spring loaded folders, quartz extreme, etc.)

The last number = minor features/tweaks/bug fixes/etc.

That's why they haven't moved to the 6D's...they added everything major that they've needed to add, they've just been tweaking and bug fixing the heck out of it.

Should be a pretty solid product.

i will know for sure later this evening. I'm told that this is the GM or that there might be one small update if they find anything. This weekend is dedicated to bug testing. So if they find something they reserve the right to patch it

MacMinute reports that this is GM:

August 1 - 19:55 ET Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar has reached Golden Master (GM) status, developer sources inform MacMinute. GM was reached with build 6C115, whose code is now frozen and will be used for duplication. Mac OS X 10.2 spans three discs and will be available August 24.

I have it, but I haven't installed it yet. Disk 2 downloaded very fast, but disk 1 took FOUR HOURS. Apple's site got hammered with downloads last night. I'll install it when I get home.
