Well, since it was so hard to come up with 15 songs, top ten albums may be easier. Most of my favorites are concept or theme albums. Too bad there aren't many these days, where every track is worth the price of the CD...

1. Misplaced Childhood--Marillion
2. Dark Side of the Moon--Pink Floyd
3. Making Movies--Dire Straits
4. Radio K.A.O.S--Roger Waters
5. Love Over Gold--Dire Straits
6. Brothers in Arms--Dire Straits
7. Dire Straits--Dire Straits (anyone see a pattern here?)
8. Bat out of Hell--Meat Loaf
9. Clapton--Live in Japan (don't remember the title)
10. Seasons--Magna Carta

Off the top of my head...

The Wall--Pink Floyd
Hot Shot--Shaggy
Out Of The Bag--The Gadflys (Aussie)
Greatest Hits--The Cruel Sea (Aussie)
Gold (greatest hits)--Cold Chisel (Aussie)
Aliens Ate My Buick--Thomas Dolby
So Much For The Afterglow-- Everclear

And I'll pinch some from Macola...

Making Movies--Dire Straits
Love Over Gold--Dire Straits
Brothers in Arms--Dire Straits
Bat out of Hell--Meat Loaf

That's eleven. It's better if it goes up to eleven.

Not bad for a band that started out as a joke (and stayed one, IMO. Fight for your Right to Party was high school for me and I have never been able to get past it).

A fine list. Who's Next is the kind of record what does damage to car speakers, what with my total inability to play it at human tolerance level decibles and all.

Went up to East Longmeadow last Saturday. That's where my brother and his family live. He had taken his wife out to dinner earlier in the evening so she let him out of jail. We headed towards downtown Springfield. I wasn't expecting much. Was I surprised! Stumbled on this local band that BLEW ME AWAY - Po' Boy and the Red Hats. Wow! Were they good - little Blues, some original stuff, a killer cover of "All Along the Watchtower" - I was totally impressed.

Other news: "T" is coming back from Paris in early November or maybe late October. I'm a happy boyo.

At any rate, I think that I have seen this Po' Boy advertised i the local entertainment rag. Well, now, if that is an endorsement, I'll make the effort to get out to see them next time they are in Learyville!

I'm going to pull your head off because I don't like your head.

Why does everyone like OK Computer better than Kid A? I really like both, but I definately give the edge to Kid A for having more homogenous album feel to it; OK Computer seems to be more of a collection of really good songs. My favorite Pink Floyd songs are not on Dark Side, and yet Dark Side is definately their best album. Just curious.

Ahhh... The Beastie Boys. Quite possibly the only punk band to turn into a rap group.

A bit of trivia: Anthrax' I'm The Man, the second ever rap-metal song, was supposed to be a collaboration between Anthrax and the Beastie Boys. The Anthrax members enjoyed rapping so much that they ended up taking all the lyrics; leaving nothing for the Beastie Boys.
