hi guys,

recently picked up white macbook, upgraded memory and faster harddrive, installed vista and now have couple of questions:

1. how do you adjust settings of touchpad? mine is too sensitive under vista.

2. how do you page up/down in windows? combinations of ctrl/alt/cmd + arrow keys don't seem to work.

nice little machine and great board!

many thanks

All the settings for things like your touchpad, keyboard, etc. are in Vista's Control Panel. Looking at Apple's Boot Camp support page gets you a lot of help-including this article on "Using an Apple Keyboard with Windows.".

ghporter,

i appreciate the time in replying to my thread but unfortunately it doesn't answer either of my questions.

if you could point to where about in control panel i could find settings for the touchpad, i would greatly appreciate that. so far i was not able to find anything related.

also the link that you provided has only mapping for Macbook PROkeyboard that utilises page up/down buttons by using the fn-key.

i would appreciate some feedback from anyone who had a chance to play with macbook under windows.

Go to Vistas control panel, then select mouse, in there there should be a setting for trackpad.

Not to sure about the page up/down thing though.

Is there really a difference in the way MacBook keys and MBP keys work? The article calls it a "sample" built in keyboard-how different is the MacBook keyboard from the one shown? I mean, do the MacBook's arrow keys not give you page up and down when used with the fn key?

Page up/page down is the same for MB and MBP: hold the fn key and press the up arrow or down arrow key. It's labeled right there on the keyboard!

thanks but there is none. unless mouse and trackpad share the same settings in mouse properties.

it seems they are not the same because this method doesn't work.

nope. fn does not add functionality to arrow keys.

Do your keys do the expected things in OS X?

Did you install the Boot Camp drivers from the Leopard install disk? That may be why your keyboard is not working as expected. The fn key plus the arrow keys should be providing you the functionality you want. As asked, does page up/down work correctly in OS X? If so, make sure you've installed those drivers in Windows.

drivers from Mac OS Disk 1 installed. fn+keys work in OS X but they don't in Vista.

any ideas what else to check?

many thanks
