The GS608
Newegg.com - NETGEAR GS608 10/100/1000Mbps Switch 8 x RJ45 4K MAC Address Table 1MB Buffer Memory - Retail

and

The GS108
Newegg.com - NETGEAR GS108 10/100/1000Mbps ProSafe Gigabit Ethernet Desktop Switch 8 x RJ45 4,000 MAC Address Table - Retail

Both gigabit, both the same price, prolly the one w. the metal enclosure runs cooler. And they both support jumbo frames...hmmm.

What's the difference between 802.3ab and 802.3z? Different implementations of gigabit?

Yup, I'm confused, lol.

802.3ab is ethernet-based. 802.3z is gigabit over fiber.

I think the GS108 page is wrong; that switch doesn't appear to support fiber (802.3z).

Also, neither of those are routers; they're just switches. Here's a router with gigabit, but only 4 LAN ports.

Whoops, I want a switch, don't know why I typed router...

I didn't think the GS108 had fiber either.

Any other differences between the two?

The 108 is probably a bit higher performance... what's the intended usage?
