I wasn't joking. It seems a nasty bit of spam to send out. Pure malice since you don't get any benefit from it yourself,

Since it uses sudo, that command will likely wipe out any backups that people do make, since it'll navigate inside /Volumes and delete everything on every attached disk, as root.

And yes, that's not funny in the slightest. People who find it hilarious to maliciously destroy people's data like that should rm -rf themselves from the gene pool and do us all a favor.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

It's a good thing sudo won't work unless you've enabled the root user. Oh wait, it does work without enabling root.

I've tried to contact the website about that image, since it is more harmful than funny. I like a practical joke as much as the next person, but this one could cost someone their job when they lose critical data. It could potentially get them in legal trouble under various scenarios, such as deleting evidence or losing tax data.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to contact the web site. Nothing online anyway, and the whois data is restricted. I think that's a violation of web rules. The ISP does provide a lookup for the site registration, but it gives a name and Finnish phone number, no email address. Perhaps googling the user name would produce something useful.
