Could we see another screenshot of the Finder using the more condensed version of Lucida Grande.... say, Column view?

Thanks.

edit. Ah, never mind, I see it in the icon view and open/save dialog screenies. Looks good.

What's so amazing about that? I've had that error come up in Jag a few times. Very helpful, but hardly groundbreaking stuff!

I have never seen it in Jag. It certainly is a new addition for me.
Anyone else ever see such a dialog in 10.2.x ?

No.

I'm pretty sure it is a new Panther feature.

is it me or does Disk Copy not exist in these Panther builds. My friend told me that he can't find the app in Applications > Utilities.

It is now intergrated in the Finder and Disk Utility

I took a screenshot of it the first time I saw it cos I thought "hey that's really cool", but then I saw it a few times more and deleted the screenshot...well I was running low on disk space!

It wasn't exactly the same dialog (and didn't have the "don't show again" checkbox), but it was definitely words to that effect. I was sure I posted the image here, but can't find it on any of my usual servers. Sorry.

Are you sure you weren't seeing a similar dialog when you tried to copy files to the almost full drive and there wasn't enough space to do so?

This dialog will appear automatically when the drive starts getting too full for OS X to function properly. You don't have to copy files or anything else to get this dialog.

Yes, it has been there before, and as already said with a less explanatory text and without that checkbox (why would it make sense to turn that warning off?). But if you never ran low on space you never saw it.
Now a real improvement would be if it would offer to delete some random files automatically

Thanks for stepping in to prove my sanity......or at the very least for agreeing with me

Hrm, maybe along the lines of :
"You are running critically low on space on your startup disk. Which would you like to remove?
[ Porn ] [ Work ] [ Both ]"

[Edit: Please excuse the poor joke. I'm very very tired! ]
