I think apple might have stolen the idea from IKEA. I remember seeing their translucent tupperwares a long long time ago, they still sell those.

The same way the iPod does.

And iPhoto, iTunes, iCal, iMovie...

Huh, I just noticed that the big three apps that do deal with the Internet are the ones that don't have "i" in front! Safari, Mail, Sherlock... weird.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

You have to admit, iMail, iSafari, and iSherlock would sound kinda weird.

Could the "i" stand for I instead of internet? Like for example, Demo68's Tunes...etc.

The "i" is for media apps, presumably non-pro ones.

Well, I think that if Apple had decided to give them 'i' names, they would have had more generic words after the 'i'. Probably they would have been called iMail, iWeb, and iSearch or something similar. TheBadgerHunter is, of course, correct about 'i' being used for media apps, but I just have to wonder why that is the case, since the 'i' very clearly stood for Internet when the iMac was first released, and now it stands for... what exactly? Apple doesn't start with an 'i'.

Kramer: Hey, buddy. How was career day?

Jerry: Ah, I didn't get on. The lizard guy went long.

George: You got bumped from career day?

Jerry: It was a mix-up, I'm sure.

Kramer: They're trying to screw with your head.

Jerry: Now why would a junior high school want to screw with my head?

Kramer: Why does Radio Shack ask for your phone number when you buy batteries? I don't know.

Well, if the "i" stands for "I", then it would likely work for the RadioShack product
