I want only one app to connect via a VPN, everything else to connect normally.
Anyone know if this is possible?

Connect to what via a VPN? What are you trying to do? Does this VPN force all traffic through it?

Its an automated app to download my BBC iPlayer content when I am outside the UK.
I have a UK VPN which works perfectly (standard Lion VPN), but I don't want all traffic to go through it, just the iPlayer app.
Any ideas?

I think you are out of luck, the traffic that is tunneled through it is configured at the server level.

There is a checkbox under the VPN settings to send all traffic through the VPN. Traffic won't usually go through the VPN unless its the only way to get there.
The easiest way might be to configure the VPN to route everything through the tunnel and just have it download overnight when you aren't using the rest of the net.

Or get a us VPN and configure the iptables to connect the bbc ip through the VPN interface you will need to configure at that VPN server.
How do you ensure that the iplayer app doesn't leak out some requests from your non uk ip and hint bbc that you are not in their contract audience?

You might be able to do it by getting one of those modem/routers with a VPN built in. The Netgear FSN series should do what you need.
