What do you think? m.example.com or mobile.example.com?
I like m.example.com because its smaller, shorter, easier to type on a little keyboard.
I like mobile.exmaple.com because it better explains/indicates exactly what this website IS.
What do you think?
Please include WHY you think what you think

M.mobile.com still lets me see the actual domain name, and more of the URL, on an iPhone.
I HATE HATE HATE sites that default me to their mobile page, though.
Even more, I despise sites that don't give me a clear option to access the regular web page from the mobile site.
I do not visit such sites unless I absolutely HAVE TO.
And even worse, the ****ing morons that default the iPad to a mobile page.
Edit: De-apostrophized the iPad-miscorrected English-mother****er-do-you-speak-it language.

I voted for m.example.com: it's shorter to type, reveals more of the actual domain (if it is long) and average users don't know what URLs are (e. g. my father googles everything!).

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

As above, m. It's less typing and you see more of the address in the bar.
As long as there's an easy option to go in and out of the mobile site.
|
It'll be much easier if you just comply.

m.example.com, as it is less typing.
However, your site should instead be responsive and change display based on the user device. That's the way to do things now.

exmaple.com, the site for people who have lost Canadian citizenship?

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Do you mean that you hate sites that default you to their mobile site, where there mobile site provides a subset of information/features as the big site, or you hate mobile sites period?
It is possible to make a good mobile site that provides a better experience on mobile devices without annoying tradeoffs.

M for mobile.
But not because it's easier to type (most mobile sites suck, it's not like I want to intentionally go there) but because it's easier to delete, and put in a proper site address.

Don't use a special domain for mobile. Just serve mobile content for mobile browsers. That way the exact same link will always work regardless of what browser you type/paste it into.

Obviously it should be mobile.example.mobi/mobile.php?start=mobile&iPad&iPod

No sub domain, just do the right thing when a mobile device hits your domain. And offer them the full desktop version if your mobile version is limited.

I recommend a few brightly coloured blue lines of text that send them to internetexplorer.microsoft.com
