I was just wondering if there were any plans to fix the scrolling bug in Safari any time soon. it gets quite annoying and I know many other people that I talk to are having the same issue still also.

My guess it's a guikit problem that is causing it.. Try using a different guikit. If that doesn't correct the problem try and reinstall Safari.

I have seen it in several guiKits including Max's Aluminum Alloy.

When you scroll the page in Safari - artifacts are left behind and everything is jumbled like your video card just locked up. Things return to normal when you aren't scrolling.

This is about the extent of it. Except I use Sidetrack to scroll on my track-pad on my powerbook, and so it doesn't just go away when done scrolling, you have to scroll again real fast and then go back to get rid of it. As you can imagine it gets extremely annoying.

And no, it has nothing to do with individual GUI kits as every single one of them does it.

Some days are better than others but today I was giving a presentation when it happened and it was just quite annoying so I am just wondering if it ever is going to be taken care of or if it is just something I will have to suck up for using themes.

yeah i've had it happen to me too...a big blob is left where the sroll started out.

if you click on the finder and then safari it goes away.

i've had some wonkiness in the operation of safari 1.2. i hope this is not

related in any form.

hint...when doing a presentation use a nice clean system...no gui hacks.
but you knew that.

I bet you're using a metal interface. Switch Safari to non-metal and it will clear up. Unsanity knows of this bug. BTW, you can switch to non-metal with SafarIcon...there are others out there too.

Actually no, I use no metal except in iTunes. I have used safaricon to keep it aqua since safaricon was updated and it still happens. But thanks anyway.

My understanding was that this happens sporadically in Safari regardless of whether ShapeShifter is turned on or not. Is this not the case?

Yep, definitely not ShapeShifter's fault. This problem appear even on clean system.

It has never happened to me on a clean system, and most of the time I have shapeshifter disabled and use DLTA and it does not happen. Am I the only one?

I've only seen this bug when using ShapeShifter and *certain* guiKits. I am not angry about the bug or anything - so don't take it that way.

I'd have to sit down and document which ones to help you folks out more of course. Perhaps I can find some time in the morning tomorrow.

I see this bug everytime I set Safari to metal interface (using InterfaceBuilder or SafarIcon). Only happens with metal interface and Shapeshifter running. NEVER happens with Aqua Safari or Shapeshifter disabled.
