I am using an external Sony DRX-510UL to burn dvd+r disks at 4x from my 15inch Albook running Panther.
I have Toast Titanium 6.0, and it gives me an upper limit of 4.4 gigs when burning to a 4.7 gig disk. Im not a stickler, but when you add the cost of discs together, 300 megs being lost per disc adds up to a lot of space.
I am burning at 4x set to DAO(havent tried TAO). But is this a Toast limit? And are there any other good burning programs out there? Im not making a DVD, I just want to archive some files.
Thanks.

No software will burn more than 4.4 gb. The disc manufacturers use a different method (1,000 mb = 1 gb) while the computer calculates 1024 mb = 1gb. This has been discussed quite often on these boards. Hope this helps.

So I suppose this is a problem across platforms as well?
Nero on the PC cant "overburn" a DVD to a full 4.7 gigs?
