I just bought a new 20 GB iPod, and I've got a Windows machine. I get it in the mail, and I'm all excited about my new beautiful iPod. I charge it up, then when I go to plug it into my USB connection...there is no USB cable!!! What the hell? I thought the dock came with that? Am I missing something? Do I have to buy another $20 cable just to use my iPod? Jeez, you'd think they'd sell that standard when you just spent $400 on a damn MP3 player.

or u can buy a PCI firewire card because if u dont have USB2 ports, transferring files will be painful.

Yeah but there is little real estate for the firewire. But if I can get a firewire card for $30....

It doesn't matter too much about transfer speeds: I'll download my 4 GB worth of files once and be done with it, only synchronizing a few files every now and then.

Both the product box and the marketing materials (including printed prospectus and the website) clearly state that USB 2 is only supported with a cable that's not included.
