Is it possible to maybe get RSS feeds for each section of the forum, so that when any new posts are posted, one can be informed? Also, maybe some form of RSS supscription to each topic? I'm not sure how well the latter would work, or in fact, how easy it would be to integrate. But, RSS feeds for new posts in each section of the forum would be great.

You can certainly do the former. you need to craft the RSS URL yourself to contain the sections you are interested in:

e.g. I use the following:
http://forums.macnn.com/external.php?type=RSS&forumids=69,57,90,82,79,88,8 9
(ignore the space between the last two characters - the board seems to have issues parsing (or rather not parsing) that URL.)

You can get the relevant numbers (ids) by going to a post in the section you want and looking at the URL:
e.g. this thread is in the 'feedback' forum - an the URL of this thread is:
http://forums.macnn.com/61/feedback/328915/rss/

The 61 part of the URL is the id of this section.
