I doubt you'll find the originals. They were done by their guitarist. It's not something that they bought, even if he bought some parts of it. Their show was unreal. I saw them in Albany. I've never heard 15,000 people dead silent as they were during Wings for Marie.

If you found the visuals impressive, you need to pick up the Tool music video DVDs.

I'd like to say to all of you that have seen Tool, you suck.

I've been a fan of theirs for a long time and sadly have never been able to see them live.

As for the DVD that Lat is talking about, you can find it here.

Salival is too rich for my blood (they go for several hundred new on eBay). May snag it some day though.

Specifically, I'm referring to this and this.

Tool has the best music videos ever. Not only because they are visually stunning. But because they are created by the band (well, mostly Adam, but I'm sure he gets some help) and they don't feature the band members dancing around like fruits lip syncing or anything like that. They don't feature the band members at all (aside from very tiny cameos).

It took me until after their show to really get into 10,000 days. Now I can say that I think it's their best album ever. Lateralus was very hard to top, but they did. It just took me a year to realize it.

Is it now time for me to say that Tool is overrated?

And yes, I have seen them live.

There's never a wrong time to say a band is overrated at MacNN
