So I have no idea if this exists, but if someone has an idea for this please let me know...
What I am looking for is a way to have my iCal events and to-dos to be in some kind of transparent overlay that appears to be embedded on the desktop. Does that make sense? Basically it's so I am forced to see the upcoming events rather than have to go to dashboard or iCal.

I'd be interested in this too. dashboard widgets don't do it for me and it is a pain to open ical all the time just to check my to-do list.

Hey, I just released an app called Anxiety, that should meet your requirements for the to-do part of your question
Grab it here: Anxiety - Lightweight To-do Management

I like the idea of Anxiety (the app not the emotion) but now I am just being picky. I have been using that for a few days now and I like it except the interface just seems almost too cramped. Maybe if there was a way to space out the lines and add a function to set due dates, alarms, and all that extra info then it would be really good.
