Sometimes when my iBook (G3/900) is closed and asleep, if I press on the back part of the top it will wake up (while it is still closed).

Does this happen to anyone else? Is this normal, or does my switch have a problem?

I'd really appreciate it if some of you could test this out on your iBook. Just press around on towards the back of the top while it's sleeping and see if it wakes up. Thanks.

You might just be pressing on your keyboard through your top lid.

I think you just hit the nail on the head. My keyboard is slightly sprung and sticks up just a little in the middle. I'll bet this is what's doing it.

It's (slightly) permanently sprung. I did it when I installed an airport card. I check eBay from time-to-time for a replacement, but it's just not worth it right now.

Make sure some small object hasn't lodged itself underneath the keyboard. That was my problem that annoyed me once for several days until I removed the keyboard, cleared the little piece of something metallic, and replaced the keyboard. Now it's nice and flat as it should be.

Also helpful are WildEepz from Radtech.
