I did some googleing and couldn't find a good comparison of the wireless range between the Macbook and Macbook Pro. If anyone has some real world experience they could lend that would be great. Its annoying when Apple products with the same wireless cards have a noticeable difference in wireless range.

Example: At my office one guy has a new Macbook that can pick up the internet connection from the floor below us at a good signal strength. Another guy has a G4 iBook that can usually pick up that signal with a low signal strength. My Powerbook G4 can pick up the signal once in a blue moon, or if I sacrifice a live chicken. Annoooying. Live chickens cost a lot of money.

So, range wise, Macbook Pro or Macbook? (My guess, Macbook)

I have some side-by-side experience with both MacBooks (black and white, though there isn't any difference in their wireless systems) and my own MBP. We seem to get about the same quality of signal most of the time, even in poor coverage areas. I was rather surprised by this, but I've confirmed it with other people's MBPs; Apple seems to have actually managed to get past that "metal cased laptop antenna problem" from the TiBook days. Also, keep in mind that the actual hardware in MBs and MBPs is much newer than what's in iBooks and PowerBooks, and that makes a difference in how well signals are handled.
