WTF?!?! My clean install of 10.5 is funky. All the hidden folders are now visible.

Advice?

Happened to me on a couple of Macs, but not on a third one. All were installed the same way... format drive, clean install.

You can make a .hidden file at the root of the drive and add the name of each visible file like so...

bin
cores
etc
mach_kernel
private
sbin
tmp
usr
var
Volumes

yes, it is very annoying to me too. I have 2 accounts set up at home and I have a disk image mounted on my job account and it is showing up on my home account too. In tiger, the mounted disk image only showed up when you turned on disk utitlity. But in leopard, it is showing up on the side bar and finder.

Fortunately, i could turned off the "show hard disk" on the side bar and manually drag the other hard drive partitions or disk images that i want the other users too see only.

I did an archive and install and that fixed everything. Annoying.
