Fear Platinum has been pushing the physical and imaginative boundaries of themeing since version 1, originally released with one application skin and four desktops. Today, I am proud to announce that JoE of Fear Utopia has completed version 3 of his theme, adding desktops, cursor sets, application skins, an icon set by David Lanham, and of course, completely renovating the theme itself. Together, with a fresh interface full of insane textures and a matching collection of extras by JoE, Zachary Lutterman, and David Lanham, Fear Platinum 3 is the rare sequel that doesn't disappoint, and deserves its place with other MacThemes Productions.

Fear Platinum 3 includes application skins for Address Book, Calculator, Font Book, iChat, Safari, and VLC, five desktops, two cursor sets, and the Puft system icon replacement set by David Lanham.

More information can be found at MacThemes.net Productions and Fear Utopia.

I remember a day when iTunes skins weren't a "requirement". Those were the good old days of the theming world. /Sigh... Not everyone has the time and/or ability to change everything.

Nobody is asking themers to change everything... it's not like iTunes is Calculator or something... it's one of OSX's most often apps, so it should be themed... when you have time, phill...

iTunes skins all suck. there isn't one good one. no reason to spend time making something that looks like crap no matter what you do.

i love fear platinum 3. never used the original, but this one is much more usable than it looks. btw, does anyone know where i can find the first one?

The more skins the better... but are you guys really looking at iTunes that often? The only time I see the main window is when it first opens and when I quit the app. Unless I decide to change playlists, that's it, it's hidden.

It's not exactly Safari.

I've been asking myself that very same question. Besides, with so many cool iTunes widgets around...
Would it be the somewhat unpleasant feeling, knowledge even, that IT just ain't there ?
IOW, it's all between the ears

Yeah. It really does. The best iTunes skin ever was Shinobi though in my opinion. I can't bear to have iTunes unskinned these days, so any theme that doesn't skin iTunes doesn't get used. Either that or I hack an iTunes skin from another theme into it.

fireside is acting the grumpy old sod as usual.

coldforge, you've been bitten by the SS 2.0 bug. Fix it.

smeger, i thought i already did - at least that's what the error message i get tells me when i try to do it again:

'2004-10-27 12:19:52.288 defaults[2302]
There is no (CustomSettings) default for the (com.unsanity.shapeshifter) domain.
Defaults have not been changed.'

edit - The plist command line trick didn't work, deleting my cache did. sorry to derail the thread.

ps - man, fear platinum 3 is sweet theme! it's ridiculously useable, for being so delightfully grotesque.

i personally feel that all itunes skins are a waste of time, and i'm labeled a grumpy old sod? the eXec iTunes skin looks nice, if you like the rest of the theme that is.
