Heh, cute. That must have been some job getting it out of the box and unwrapped. It's quite alarming when the computer is bigger than the owner, plus your desk and chair is way too big.

Thank you angelmb, parka, and voo for your kind comments. The Mac Pro is indeed as incredible as advertised, and the Pug (Dexter George, October 11, 1999 - March 13, 2008) was equally excellent.

It's so heart breaking when your beloved dog dies.
I still miss mine, I don't think I could get another dog to go through the death again.
May 14 1991 to May 6 2006, died in my arms. Heart just gave in before we got him onto the vet's table late at night. The vet even opened the place up which was decent of them but sadly it was his time.

I haven't posted pictures of my office since January, so...
New office is in a new space; did some remodeling before moving in. Dedicated sub-panel, in-wall audio and Ethernet, etc.
Before you ask "why do you have all of this?", I write software.
http://flickr.com/photos/bwa32/sets/72157607284828899/
I threw in a few pictures of the remodel at the end.
Hope you liked the pictures.

What's with those APEs? Did you make them FW/USB powered?

The Speaker ports on a Power Mac are intended for Apple's Pro Speakers (the round ones). They are pre-amplified, so plugging any other speaker into that port will not work unless they were intended to work with the Pro Speaker Jack.

Eric, are you still using 2x22 + 2x24" Gateways? I remember your set-up. I had 2x24" Gateways and tried to grow to 4x24" but I couldn't seem to get 2 new panels that didn't squeal and, in the end, gave up on that idea. I still have one of the 24" Gateways. It's a fine screen for the price at the time ($711 in Feb 2007--seemed like a great deal).

One of the 24" Gateways shelled its power supply so I hurriedly replaced it with a Samsung 245BW. The Samsung is likely to be electronically more reliable than the 24" Gateway but the Gateway is a better display. One thing I find really annoying is that everybody has gone to glossy bezels that are hard one one's eyes if they are scanning across multiple screens all day and I prefer to matte finish of the Gateways.

Since no one else is posting pictures (for 3 months!), I thought I'd post a few new shots of my Mac Pro's displays.

The man knows his monitor stands... Yes... the two 19" side monitors are on the Ergotrons. The center 23" is on its stock stand. I was going to go with a three monitor mono pod type rack, but the Ergotons give you a lot more flexibility for positioning.
Nice setup yourself...!

If you don't mind me asking… what's all that code?, and is the screensaver available anywhere?, looks nifty. Thanks.

The "screen saver" is the iTunes visualizer, zoomed in. The video performance is pretty bad, but it looks cool in a still shot.
The code is a filesystem-related product. Blue screens are code, black are terminals.
