I've got a rather new 24 inch Aluminum iMac with the 2.4 processor and 4 gigs of ram. I upgraded the operating system software (10.5) last week and since then I haven't been able to convince my Canon MP-600 to scan. It prints fine but no scanning. Any thoughts out there?

Have you looked for new drivers on Canon's site? Have you tried Image Capture? How about VueScan?

I called Canon yesterday and got the goods on the scanner part of the machine. It seems that the upgrade to 10.5 has impacted only the scanner portion of Canon's MP Navigator software. Everything else works fine but the scanner and computer can't communicate via that software. The fix is to scan using Photoshop Elements. Turns out it works better and has more features anyway.
I should also mention that my Photoshop Elements 2.0 crapped out when I upgraded. 2.0 is pretty old so no love lost there. I picked up 4.0 at the Glendale Apple Store and all is well. I've upgraded to 4 gigs of ram and life is good. Thanks,
PeteWK
