Today I use a flip-the Motorola RAZR. Tomorrow, I'll use a PDA/Smart phone-the new iPhone 3GS.

Having more than one phone is NOT "fail." "Having to USE" more than one phone can be fail. Job phone and personal phone separate? Maybe you need to reconsider your job OR what you do with your personal phone that you don't want the boss to know about. Just sayin'....

Employers sometimes give staff phone/blackberries for work, so naturally you would have a personal phone/number also no?

Maybe. It depends on whether the employer demands "no personal calls" or not, and a lot of other stuff. A Blackberry as a work leash? Yeah, I've seen that. "You must be available at all times, so here's this fancy new phone that does so much... and with which we can yank your chain 24/7..." Either way, it sucks.

I have also seen a Blackberry provided for work activities only, yet not used as a leash. I know someone who works on the road a lot, and when he's home, he uses his nice little personal phone, but when on the road he uses his work BB. That makes sense, and is not "fail." Clumsy, maybe, but not fail.

I'm just glad that I stopped being "on call" a long time ago, before even text pagers became common. I ain't going through that crap again, either.

I utterly despise cell phones. So it's some cheap old crap which lives in the glovebox and never sees the light of day unless there's an emergency.
If I'm out, I'm out - tough. Use the answerphone, try later or send an email.

I do text nude pics to girls I meet on MySpace a lot.

I have a BlackBerry provided by my work, and a personal cellphone of my own. The BlackBerry uses T-Mobile, so reception sucks. My own phone is on Verizon, so I get reception everywhere.

I'll be leaving my parents' family plan this September and I considered only using my BlackBerry (work is fine with personal use), but I don't want to go through the hassle of changing my phone number, plus my own phone comes in handy when T-Mobile's network doesn't provide coverage.

There’s a guy at work who has three different mobile phones for this exact reason. One for friends and ‘regular’ people; one for girls he’s ‘serious’ about; and one for one-night-stands and girls he figures he’s going to be screening a lot.

Surprisingly, he’s not a complete tɯat.

I've been without a phone since my iPhone died in the great pocket flood of last Monday. It's actually liberating, though I admit I check my new iPhone's delivery status about 32 times a day.

I use an ancient T-Mobile Blackberry. I keep it in protest of Apple not letting iPhones on T-Mo.

Won’t let me use an iPhone on T-Mobile? Well then, I’ll use a pre-historic smartphone instead. How do you like me now?

Don't forget the Type R emblem on a Ford Taurus.

I'd hope he would at least have the sense to put a fake SVT logo for continuity.
