I was skeptical at first. This being Adult Swim, it's a strong possibility that you need to be completely baked to get any enjoyment out of it, but that's not the case at all. It's fantastic, it's what Dan Harmon did after he got kicked from Community. Anyone else watching?

I admit to liking this show too. It took an episode or two, but I am into it.
It's very original, creative, etc... and just like the new Cosmos series, you watch it once sober, and then again baked out of your mind to achieve full nirvana.

You guys. If you're not watching this show, **** you. I'm serious. Some of the best comedy on TV right now. I disabled AdBlock on Adult Swim's website so that it would show me ads while watching R&M. It's that good.

Yeah, this show is amazing.
I rewatched season 1 before season 2 started and the level of constancy is crazy. Every single episode just knocks it out of the park and season 2 hasn't missed a beat.

Is it sad I don't have the will to go to a website to watch TV? If its not on Netflix or Prime, I don't care. It's why I didn't watch the final eps of the Daily Show.

This and GoT are the only shows I go out of my way to watch. Otherwise it's Netflix or YouTube subscriptions.

I've been able to get away with throwing my iPhone at the AppleTV and that tends to work well, even for Amazon Prime video. The biggest downside is visiting "less reputable" sites, most of which have transparent buttons over the entire page that incessantly redirect to the App Store.

One of the ways I entertain myself is to see if I can piece together what something is about using only the few pieces I have. Sort of a self-imposed puzzle.
From Rick and Morty, I get Peabody's Improbable History, but Peabody is a drunk, sociopathic dick instead of just a dick, and the Wayback machine is interdimensional.
How'd I do?

I'm with someone who could use a laugh, and this is a good possibility.
Problem is she's fickle, and I've heard the first three episodes are kinda weak.
Is there a good "introductory episode" to get her hooked?

Some episodes are better than others, but this is a pretty consistent show quality wise. I don't recall the first 3 episodes being weak. Just start at the beginning.
This is however, one of those shows that may take a few episodes to really latch onto. It was for me anyway. I did not start at the beginning. I started somewhere in season one, I cannot remember where.
It's not for everyone, if she doesn't at least like it right away, I think you're out of luck.

If you want to cheer her up just do a Ren and Stimpy marathon.

Yeah, actually, if she needs a laugh because she's having a hard time with something, this show is super super dark, nihilistic and mean spirited.
Just know that going in.

Season 1 is great, any episode, the first is arguably very strong. The worst the first season gets is "nothing matters, let's just watch TV."
Season 2 gets super dark.

I mean, it's still an animated goofy show. It's not some sort of mega-downer... it just regularly plays in pretty dark themes.

Which under normal circumstances, I think she'd love. Taking solace in not being alone in her nihilism and all.
Right now, it's probably good to go for something which is less of a gamble.
I actually wish Zootopia was available.

Definitely a huge drag, but at the least it was a case where it was the clear proper course of action.
The trip up to that point was filled with it being unclear what to do much of the time.

Holy shit, she can't catch a break. Is it going to make it?
On a side note, I think my big wild* cat tried to eat my new wild kitten. Likely jealousy was involved, but BTAIM he did take a bite out of her butt and may have eaten her if I hadn't intervened. Their species share the same territories in the wild and are occasionally natural enemies, preying on each others' young. Fortunately she's a tough little thing and seems to have just shaken it off. He'd better watch his own ass, though, she's going to be nearly as big as he is, but with larger claws and teeth, when she gets older.
(*They're wild species but both are from domesticated lines.)

She could have pneumonia, which should be beatable. She could have a liver shunt, which is seriously bad. She's waiting on test results.

Thankfully, no liver shunt. She's only eating from a syringe, so there's still something up. Best case scenario is she's so tiny (one pound) it's taking her a bit to shake off an infection. Worst case seems to be Addison's disease.

Worst case it's still a treatable condition, thankfully. As long as you have the means to care for the cat, I recommend going forward. These types of situations bring you closer to your pets and create even stronger bonds.
Now Ramses is playing with Nefertari and they're both having a ball, sans the growling and bloodshed. What a difference a few days makes, I guess he merely had to realize she's a member of the family and not dinner. I admit the initial reaction was my fault, I take him on hunts for squirrels and rabbits around the property, both to satisfy his need to do such things and to supplement his diet. He does love eating a fresh kill and it's good exercise for both of us.

Maybe Nefertari's don't taste good. All sinewy and stuff.
The key factor will probably revolve around how much it will cost to insure her. Yesterday was supposed to be the insurance checkup. It was assumed she wouldn't hit the hospital between last weekend and now.

Puppy home from the hospital for less than three hours, had a seizure.
This person kinda wallows in having "bad luck", and as a member of Team Rational, I've pooh-poohed it for as long as I've known her.
It's a little tough on this one.

If it's not Addison's, the puppy gets put down on Monday with a diagnosis of "sickly".
On one hand, this seems insane, but on the other, I don't know what you're supposed to do.
She's also pretty set on getting another dog, which also seems insane, but I don't know what you're supposed to do either. She wants a dog. Lots of people have dogs. Getting a dog is how that happens.

There comes a time when all the money in the world wouldn't help. A coworker of mine got a purebred lab puppy, it was always getting sick, they tried different food, medicine, after 6 months the doctors told them it was a genetic flaw and would never get better, only worse. Poor pup.
(Subego, I could split it into two threads, if you like. )

I think if you look at it rationally, she's not equipped to handle this, but more importantly, she isn't expected to handle this.
It's hard to be rational though, because the thing is so gosh darn adorable. I've only seen pictures, and I'm attached to it. I guess this makes it "good" it happened so quickly. So quick it's more like she was puppysitting.
This is basically the end of the story, so there shouldn't be a need to split the thread, though thank you for the offer! I'm told it's something of a PITA to do.
Unless... if she gets another puppy and that one is sick too, then there needs to be a "Worst Luck Ever" thread.
