Anyone have experience using the 17 with the iCurve? I'm thinking I might pick one up to cool the PB a little better.

literally just set this up.. I like the look and frees up my desktop a bit (for my keybopard). plus puts the screen at eye level..

not bad for a $30 product..

wait a couple of months for the icurve to start drooping....and you'll see you precious PB slide right off and hit your desk (if you're lucky....if not you may want to put a cushion on the floor so it can bounce off of that)

I've had one for 3 months and no sliding PowerBook. It looks just the same as the day I took it out of the box.

If the iCurve gets a lot of dust on the top, it gets it pushed into the contacts that the PowerBook sits on. I asked someone from Griffin about this, and they recommended taking a warm, damp cloth and massaging/wiping off the contacts. That should prevent the slipping.

I've had two - first one cracked and my pb slipped on the desk adding another scratch.

Still, I bought another because its a nice design

Interesting replies. I picked up one of these last night and like it so far. It definitely keeps the PB cooler. I'll keep a watch for any slippage, drooping.

Use CAUTION with a 17" Powerbook on an iCurve.
Here are photos of a 17" Powerbook that slid off an iCurve:

The icurve is not big enough for the 17".

My 17PB fell off one night, dented the bottom case. The rubber stops aren't big enough once the icurve starts to get droopy.

It's a great design but, not enough real estate for the 17".

Not an icurve but...

I had an acrylic stand for my TiBook qith a cheapo pad thing on the front that raised the back up for extra cooling and getting at switches. Only prob was that it covered over the drive slot at the front so if you forgot and ejected a disc it made an awful noise and jammed up (how good is THAT design!). When I got my Ai Book I thought damn it doesn't fit the stand but since I use a22in monitor at work the book is always closed and it sitsthe otherway round on the stand (back down, front up) with the slot now clear!

saved buying a new atand and turned a cheapo shoddy design into a usable one!
