D-Link today announced immediate availability of two new 180 degree Ultra-Wide View Wi-Fi Cameras. The Full HD 1080p (DCS-2630L) and HD 720p (DCS-960L) are the company's first 180 degree Wi-Fi cameras, delivering the widest angle lens available on a consumer fixed camera, and allowing it to cover a larger viewable area.

Both new Wi-Fi Cameras offer features including HD video recording, two-way audio, sound and motion detection, microSD Card slot for local recording, and automatic day/night viewing. The new D-Link Ultra-Wide View Cameras provide wall-to-wall surveillance coverage from a single device designed for large rooms and areas with multiple entry points. Using de-warping technology, the 180 degree Wide Eye lens is able to take a "fish eye" view and transform it into a more viewable video stream with less distortion. Built-in night vision offers up to 16-feet of viewing in total darkness, and with two-way audio users can respond to what they see and hear.

When combined with the mydlink Camera Recorder (DNR-202L), users can simultaneously stream, record and playback up to four D-Link Wi-Fi Cameras for home security 24/7. The Camera Recorder records footage locally to an attached USB hard drive.

The Full HD Ultra-Wide View Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-2630L) is available for $200. The HD Ultra-Wide View Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-960L) will be available in November for $160.

that's nice, but an ultra wide field of view means objects will be really tiny (even in HD) unless the camera is close to them. Valuable for certain applications but if you plan on using these at your house for security, I highly doubt you will get a usable image you can provide to the police, that is useful to identify someone.
