I don't know if this was covered or not but here is the link:
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...30108095526158
Only requirement is you need to have the latest Developer Tools
Here are are the steps.
1. Control-click on Safari to bring up the " Show Package Contents" contextual menu.
2. Navigate into Safari -> Contents -> Resources -> English.lproj
3. Open Browser.nib; You will need the most recent MacOS X Developer Tools package to do this!
4. In the window marked ' Broswer.nib,' select ' Window' and hit Shift-Command-I to bring up the Inspector. The last item in the Inspector is a checkbox labeled " Textured Window." Uncheck that, save, and quit.
Now start up your modified Safari. Now it looks like it should!

This does not fix the buttons, I tried changing them using the Chimera icons, but I am having trouble getting the forward/back buttons right. Here is what I have so far:
Anyone else with a little more skill wanna giv it a shot?

Wow I really like what you've done there beni. Hopefully Apple will make the final one aqua(or atleast make it an option). Brushed metal works for some apps but I can't stand having a web browser look that way.

I've been using and hacking it.... I like it!
Some Safari alterations... I've got an updated, color version!
Basically I just renamed the pressed and um "not-pressed" tif files.
Here's the link to remove the brushed:

I think apple is trying to have a consistent "search" box that is rounded. So, google is a search. Same rounded box is true in Finder search and Mail search. But, url pane really is not a search. This is my guess.

Unsanity's metallifizer works as well to remove the brushed interface, and does not need any developer tools etc. I have been using the Milk theme and Safari looks great...

That's pretty sweet although I do like brushed metal personally... hmm wonder if you could open two instances of the program have one brushed and one un.

I removed the brushed metal about five minutes after the keynote ended, but I've actually just ended up putting it back - I've decided that since Safari's interface is so minimal anyway, just a bar along the top, this is one of the few places where it actually looks good.

It's easy to make that NSTextField a rounded type but you run into trouble with the favicon that appears on the left of the text field. its corners would get chopped off.
also: how does one quote someone? i tried pressing the quote button, but get no love.

Easiest way is to click the reply button on somebody's post. It will put the quote tags in for you. Alternatively, type
[QUOTE]
quote his stuff here..
[/QUOTE]
Hmmm, dunno if you can put who it was that said it though. In phpBB you put QUOTE="username" but that doesn't work here. Yea, checked the help thing and apparently you just can't. Put it inside the quote I guess.

Agreed. It's so minimal, why bother chaning it even if u don't like it.

Cyber: I LIKE what you've done to it. I like the horizontal bar running across separating the Title from the browser buttons. It seems to give it some perception of depth (it slightly rises). The standard look right now, to me, is too generic and boring. Also love the addition of color to it!!
I'm using Max's latest Milk theme on Duality so I didn't even realize Safari had a metal look to it until I started seeing pictures and reading about it.
Cyber, how hard is it to "hack" it? I rely on themes and programs to change the way things look on my computer. Would you mind walking those of us not tech-savy through it?
Thanks.

You should grab all the widgets in the pseudo-toolbar and move them all down a couple clicks,
=)
