This suddenly happened last night. I cannot remember the sequence of event that led to this failure. But I cannot drag and drop messages into different folder in Mail. However, I can still use message transfer option from the menu bar. Drag & Drop works well in the rest of the OS. Any help??

1) quit the app, restart...
1a) check prefs...
2) log out, log in...
3) reboot..
4) back up email and reinstall...

You know, all the normal issue killers...

Is the pasteboard server running?

ps auxww | grep pbs

Anything there aside from your own grep process?

Also check the logs. Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.app and see if you can find any notices of crashes.

Nothing other than my own grep process. I just noticed that drag & drop is not function across the board. Any help appreciated.

Yeah, the reboot finally worked. I was exploring ways other than reboot. It is kind of wierd that some stuff get reset during a reboot. I thought logout should have at least worked. Oh well...
