"A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles. The battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery. There is no concern of memory when applying unscheduled charges"
I knew that lithium-ion batteries have no memory concerns, but still I thought that it was a good idea to charge and discharge the battery of a new iPod (or laptop) at least the first time..
Any thoughts?

Reason: Pruned from ANCIENT thread)
The only reason to do a complete charge/discharge is to calibrate the machine for accurate battery life predictions... secondary Lithium batteries like to live around half charge.
