It's been a while since I've actually done a BOINC upgrade on Mac and I can't remember the most convenient process.
Would like to upgrade to 5.8.17 STABLE, but noticed that I can only get an installer version?
No way to replace package contents w/ updated mgr. and executable in my current installation?

If I install over current, would I loose/trash current WUs or is the upgrade in fact this simple?
Of course, I can empty cache, trash 5.4.9, reinstall 5.8.17, reattach to my projects and "upgrade" S@H w/ Alex's finest. Whew! More work than I'd prefer.

With my PCs, I've gotten pretty good at doing this "on the fly" by knowing what folders and specific files to move in a temp spot, before uninstall/reinstall and moving the folders and files back to appropriate locations. Recognizes all projects. wu's etc. & picks back up exactly where I stopped.

Sorry for the memory-lapse.
Any guidance to jog the 'noggin is appreciated.

It is, in fact, that simple. You won't loose anything. Go for it!

Thanks Zombie. Needed that. I had visions of slaughtered WUs laying everywhere....OHHH!! The Horror of it!

Better to ask and be safe, than to be the bringer of death and destruction.
